Amicus Committee

The Amicus Committee advances MAJ’s mission by filing briefs amicus curiae in cases pending before Maryland courts of appeals, presenting issues of substantial importance to MAJ’s membership. The committee develops and maintains a “wish list” of issues with high priority and seeks out cases in which one or more of those issues have been raised. The committee also receives and evaluates requests from members for assistance with pending appeals. The committee seeks members with strong legal writing and analytical skills who are willing to undertake the writing of quality briefs.
